Places to visit = Blue Lagoon

I visited the Blue Lagoon in the middle of June and its beauty was ruined by the complete overcrowding.  Blue Lagoon is situated in Comino one of the three islands of Malta. I can't imagine what it will be like during peak season because we have struggled to get a seat. The place is worth a visit but I advise you to go early to avoid crowds. The place is full of boats, people and water sports activities like Jet Ski. The water is incredibly beautiful but I found it very difficult to enjoy given the surroundings. Perhaps it would be nicer to visit in winter.

Places to visit - Blue grotto

In order to get to Blue Grotto is very simple is either by Taxi or public transport ( Bus), The place where Blue Grotto is called Zurriqeq and it is at the edge of Malta. The place is magical and is worth a visit. It has the cleanest water i have ever seen in my life and also one of the deepest in the whole of Europe so not worth taking a dive in even if it is so tempting. The trip on the boat lasts about 30 mins and is only 9 euros which are incredibly cheap for breathtaking views.

Places to visit - Valletta

Valletta is the capital of Malta and it offers different things to see. The city is charming and there is so much to see and is very unique as it is a historical city surrounded by bays, The city has some narrow broad pedestrian paths which lead to wonderful cathedrals and churches. The city has amazing architecture and excellent restaurants which they serve all types from local to mainly Spanish and Italian cuisine. In order to get to the city because it has a bus station and public transport over, there is very cheap and more frequent than any other part of Malta.  The city now  can be classified as Eco-friendly because when you go to shops they tend not to use plastic bags in shops,
This is because the city had a bad reputation for his dustiness and uncleanliness so the government is trying to prevent unnecessary dirt on the streets and air pollution.

Nightlife - Paceville / St Julian

Malta has an amazing nightlife and I was really impressed.  Paceville is one of the most exciting towns in Malta because it offers bars, restaurants, clubs, casinos and much more. Most of them have free access and they are open till early hours in the morning, During the peak season Paceville is the meeting point for young people so if you are a bit older you may feel out of ageThe best club I have been it was  Havana which played afrobeat, hip hop, and r &b. the club is huge and has a great neon entrance

How to go about - Transportation

Malta offers a different range of transportation from trams to buses to taxis and ferries .if you want you to the other islands like Gozo or Comino. The bus during the day is very reliable and always on time A bus ticket is 2 euros and it lasts for 4 hours. Whereas during the night the buses are a liability so people tend to use this app called Bolt which is the Uber of the island. The service is good as it shows the price straight away and avoid taxi drivers from ripping off.

Where to stay -Accomodation

Accommodations are cheap in Malta, on average they are very spacious and very clean. We have booked an Air BnB and we were situated in Isla.  Isla is a  town situated in the middle of the Malta island. I highly recommend Isla because it has a Harbour with nice restaurants and you actually have the chance to interact with the locals instead of the tourists. The town is 20 minutes drive from the capital and from St Julian/ Paceville (main hub of nightlife). Accommodations can be easily through platforms like Booking.com or Expedia or AIR Bnb, See pictures above for the amazing views of the Isla town.

How to get there - Plane or Cruise

The easiest way to get there is obviously by plane. Some people prefer going there by cruise for a short visit. In my opinion, the basic 4 days holiday is perfect for Malta as you can visit multiple locations on the same day. I've traveled around June and the weather was nice so the journey is smooth. The best company to fly over with is Jet2 in terms of reasonable prices and fight duration time from the UK. The best website to search for flights a compare them is Sky-scanner and if you have the app you can get emails/notifications of the price changes.

Malta - My personal experience

Malta is a very small country situated between North Africa and Sicily. The name Malta has Greek origins and it means Honey-sweet as it was the bee-land. I've personally gone last year and in this blog, I'm going to share the highlights of my holiday and some important tips.
